2016 User Group Meeting

January 25-28, 2016, Las Vegas, Nevada

On behalf of the Vista User Group, Black & Veatch has contracted with the New York New York Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada to host the 2016 Vista User Group Meeting. The hotel is located on the Las Vegas Strip near many popular Las Vegas attractions.

The hotel offers many different amenities including an outdoor pool, a restaurant and bar, and a fitness center. The group rate is $79 (USD) + a $25 (USD) resort fee for a total of $104 (USD) per night + tax. The closest airport is McCarran International Airport (LAS), which is 2.6 miles southeast of the hotel. The hotel does not operate a shuttle bus, but there are the following public transportation options available:

Note: Some shuttles do not guarantee that the New York-New York Hotel & Casino will be the first stop.

If you are driving to the hotel, the directions from the airport to the hotel are:

  1. Head southeast on Paradise Rd (0.2)
  2. Turn left onto Kitty Hawk Way (0.2)
  3. Slight left onto Swenson St/Wayne Newton Blvd (0.5) – Continue to follow Swenson St
  4. Use the left 2 lanes to turn left onto E Tropicana Ave (1.5)
  5. Turn right onto S Las Vegas Blvd (0.2)
  6. Mark a U-turn at Park Ave (400ft)
  7. Arrive at New York-New York Hotel & Casino on the Right

Meeting Format

The planned meeting format for 2016 is similar to that used in prior years:

  • Monday, January 25, 2016 – One-on-one sessions and beginner training.
  • Tuesday, January 26, 2016 – Meeting kickoff, new features presentations, enhancement discussion.
  • Wednesday, January 27, 2016 – More technical presentations, business meeting, and 2016 enhancement voting. One-on-one sessions may be held in the afternoon if there is interest.
  • Thursday, January 28, 2016 – Technical presentations, State of the Industry address, membership elections. Break by 11:00 am.
